LITURGICAL MINITRIES AT ST. FRANCIS DE SALES PARISH
Have you thought about becoming a liturgical minister? There are several different ministries involved in leading various aspects of the liturgy. Many ministers are needed at each Mass to ensure our prayer is the best that we can offer to God. Ministry opportunities include: Greeters, Ushers, Lectors, Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, and Altar Servers. You can choose your Mass time as well as the frequency you would like to serve. We can schedule around your schedule!
ALTAR SERVERS
Teenagers and children, beginning in 3rd Grade, are invited to become altar servers and serve weekday and/or weekend Masses. Experienced altar servers are invited to serve wedding and funeral liturgies. Servers arrive about 20 minutes prior to the liturgy they are serving, dress in an alb and cincture, check in with the presider, and help set up for Mass. Training for new servers takes place in the Fall. Contact Fr. Ray for more information, guthrier@sfdslg.org
THE ALTAR SOCIETY
Greeters/Ushers welcome people as they enter church and help with seating and safety. They assist in taking up the collection and invite members of the congregation to bring up the gifts. As Mass ends, they distribute bulletins and greet people as they leave church. Couples are welcome to serve together. Training will be provided. Interested? Contact coordinator Jim Dobbler, dobblerbld@aol.com or 630-330-3258.
LECTORS
Lectors proclaim the first and second readings and lead the Prayers of the Faithful. Lectors also carry the Book of the Gospels in procession as Mass begins, and carry it out as Mass concludes. Training and a lector workbook with explanations of each reading are available at sign up. New lectors are always needed and welcome! Contact coordinator Maureen Redmer, memauly@hotmail.com or 262-206-5625.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
Eucharistic Ministers assist the priests (and deacons, where applicable) with the distribution of Holy Communion. At St. Francis de Sales Parish, several lay Eucharistic Ministers are scheduled for each weekend Mass. SFDS is always looking for more Eucharistic Ministers and training is provided. Contact coordinator Linda Contant, lcontant@fgs.com or 262-248-1083.
EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS TO THE SICK AND HOMEBOUND—N.O.A.H.
No One is Alone at Home
This ministry endeavors to meet the needs of the homebound, hospitalized, and elderly by bringing communion and prayers to those who cannot make it to Mass. More volunteers are always welcome with training and support provided to you. Contact coordinator Marilyn Brandel, marilynbrandel1027@gmail.com or 262-203-5423.
ART AND ENVIRONMENT TEAMS
The Art & Environment Committee meets seasonally to decorate our church for the Liturgical Seasons of the Year. They keep our church space prepared to celebrate the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, freshen up/water the flowers, and look after the artistic needs of our public spaces of prayer. Help is especially needed before Easter and Christmas. If you have a strong sense of interior design, decoration, or sewing skills, please consider volunteering with this fun group! Contact coordinator Sarah Gray, sarahgray8863@gmail.com or 262-989-8863.
LAY PRESIDERS OF LITURGY OF THE WORD AND COMMUNION SERVICES
Volunteers who have provided spiritual and liturgical leadership in the community over an extended period of time may be selected by parish staff to preside at weekday Liturgy of the Word and Communion Services. Contact Fr. Ray if you are interested.

INTERESTED IN A MINISTRY?
Please get in touch with the contact person at any time during the year, or call the Parish Office at 262-248-8524 during office hours. St. Francis de Sales will also conduct a Time & Talent Campaign every Fall (announced at Mass, in the Bulletin, and on our Facebook Page). During the campaign, ministry representatives are available after Masses to talk about what they do and to answer any questions.
