Newsletter – December 18, 2025

Dear St. Francis de Sales Parish School Families,

We are excited to share an update on our classroom addition project and the progress that has already begun within the school building.

As part of this project, a new doorway is being installed in the north stairwell between the lower and main levels. The new doorway will serve as an exit and replace the existing door on Kurtis Street when classrooms are added. An exterior stairwell will also be added for access purposes. The new doorway will function as an emergency exit. Pictured below are the openings for the new doorway and the temporary staircase.

You may also have noticed other interior changes already in progress. While the stairwell door is being installed, temporary doors were installed at the top and bottom of the stairwell for emergencies if the stairs need to be used. The new temporary door has already been installed in the opening, and the temporary doors in the hallways have been removed. The storage cabinets previously in the main hallway have been removed to make room for upcoming work related to the classroom expansions. Additionally, the former teachers’ workroom is being gutted to prepare to become a full-size classroom for the next phase of construction.

We are grateful for your patience and continued support as we move forward with this exciting improvement to our school. Thank you especially to our students and teachers for their flexibility and understanding as we adjust to the temporary changes in our daily routines that come with the classroom addition project. More updates will be shared as the project progresses.

Our annual Christmas program was held last night, and, as always, was very well attended and warmly received. We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and outstanding performance.

Thanks to Mr. Deane for his technical support, Mrs. Froelicher for her help with the 5th-grade recorder group, our teachers and staff for their encouragement and ongoing support, Jason Schmidt and Maryann Martinsen for setting up and taking down the risers, Father Ray and Father Carlos, and, of course, you, the parents. Thank you for choosing to send your children to St. Francis de Sales Paris School!

A special thank you goes out to Sue Hrycyniak, our St. Francis de Sales School Music Teacher, for the Season of Joy Christmas Concert! The concert and our students’ performance were outstanding! The time and effort she put into this production went well beyond the call of duty. Mrs. Hrycyniak also extends her sincere thanks to everyone for their support and for a fantastic Christmas program.

Students and staff will be on Christmas break from Monday, December 22nd, through Friday, January 2nd. School will resume on Monday, January 5th. The school office will also be closed during this period.

From all of us at St. Francis de Sales Parish School, we wish you and your families a safe, healthy, and happy holiday season. May the joy of Christmas fill your hearts and homes on this holy day and continue to shine throughout the New Year.

Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
