Dear St. Francis de Sales Parish School Families,
Our St. Francis de Sales Parish School Luminary Walk was a wonderful evening. The night began with the 5:15 pm Mass, where our students beautifully participated and helped lead the celebration. Thank you to Linda Dickman and Kim Vanderwerff for organizing and planning with our students. Following Mass, families and friends enjoyed the glowing Luminary Walk along Highway 50/Main Street, featuring luminaries created by our students and staff. The night concluded with a delicious community meal catered by Next Door Pub.
A special thank-you goes out to Home and School Officers, Liz Reibel, Kent Martzke, Carly Cox, and Sarah Hoffman, along with the entire Home and School Association, for their planning and hard work in organizing this event. Your time, creativity, and dedication made this special event memorable for our school community.
We’re so grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, and helped make the evening shine, both literally and figuratively!
Our St. Francis de Sales Parish School community gathered on Monday, October 20th, for a beautiful Living Rosary in the school parking lot. Each student represented a bead of the Rosary as we prayed together in devotion to Mary. Thank you to Maureen Otten and Sue Hrycyniak for planning and organizing this meaningful celebration, and to all the parents who joined us in prayer!
As the temperatures continue to drop, please make sure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the colder weather. Students go outside for recess whenever possible, so warm coats, hats, gloves, and boots are essential to keep them comfortable and healthy. Thank you for helping your child stay warm and ready to learn each day!
We will be offering Vision Screening for students in the not-too-distant future. One change this year is that we will not be screening all of the students in the school. If you would like your child screened, please notify Amanda or Traci in the School Office.
St. Francis de Sales Parish School students will be permitted to wear Halloween costumes to school on Thursday, October 30th. We have moved our regularly scheduled School Mass to Wednesday, October 29th, to accommodate this.
Please take note of our Halloween costume guidelines. The following guidelines are designed to help you select costumes for your child if they do take part. These guidelines are in place to make sure everyone has a safe day at school. Students whose costumes are inappropriate will be told to call home for a change of clothes and will not be permitted to wear their costumes that day. We thank you in advance for your cooperation!
All costumes must meet dress code guidelines as specified in the Parent Student Handbook (length of skirts, undergarments showing, bare midriffs, etc.).
Many classes are planning Halloween activities. Individual classrooms may also have additional requests, such as asking for parent volunteers. Please check with your child’s teacher for further information. Parents having questions about Halloween guidelines should call the school office prior to October 30th.
Treats must be store-bought and free of any allergens: please get in touch with your student’s teacher for more information.
The Halloween Parade at school will take place right after announcements on October 30th. The 8th grade will begin by picking up the 7th grade, then proceed to 4K, followed by 6th grade, and walk through the gym down the hallway. Next, they will visit 3K, Kindergarten, and 1st through 5th grades in order. The parade will exit through the main entrance, continue through the lower parking lot, around the block, and then re-enter the school through the main entrance and return to class. The parade may be shortened depending on the weather. Parents and families are welcome to watch the parade in the lower parking lot.
Get ready for a spooky night of fun! Our Annual Home & School Halloween Party is on Thursday, October 30th, from 5:30 pm – 9:00 pm! Enjoy a frightfully good time with music, dancing, a photo booth, and a delicious dinner available for purchase. Admission is FREE with a non-perishable food donation for the Lake Geneva Food Pantry. Don’t forget that a parent or guardian must accompany all children. It’s sure to be a boo-tiful evening for the whole family!
Just a reminder that there’s no school on Friday, October 31st, due to a teacher in-service day. We hope everyone enjoys a fun, safe, and spook-tacular Halloween weekend!

Christmas Parade Float!
As Halloween wraps up and candy buckets empty out, we’re already gearing up for one of our next events — the Annual Christmas Parade! This year’s float theme “Noah’s Ark” we’re looking for any animal costumes (big or small, cute or cuddly!) that your little ones might have worn for Halloween and grown out of.
Do you have any animal costumes you’d be willing to donate or buy any on clearance while shopping?
They’ll be worn by our students during the parade as we bring Noah’s Ark and friends to life!
Thank you for helping us make the holidays magical!
