Dear St. Francis de Sales Parish School Parents,
Our teachers and staff had a fantastic In-Service Week as we prepared to welcome our students back!
Highlights included:
o Welcoming new and returning teachers, along with introducing/reintroducing the new old principal.
o Celebrating campus upgrades with our new playground and learning more about the upcoming classroom building additions.
o Collaborating on class schedules, policies, and planning.
o Completing American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid training.
o Renewing our spirit at Mass and a retreat with Father Ray.
o A lot of camaraderie, team-building, and shared lunches!
o Partnering with our school families during our first-ever Ready, Set, Goal conferences: Teachers, parents, and students came together to drop off supplies, meet one another, set goals, and create a clear plan for a successful year.
With renewed energy, great teamwork, and exciting updates and plans, we’re ready to make this school year our best yet!
We still have several important events coming up:
o Our Home & School Association is hosting a Lemonade Stand Fundraiser at Elmer’s Pier on Saturday, August 23rd. Please stop by, enjoy a refreshing drink, and help support our school!
o Join us on Sunday, August 24th at 12:00 noon, as we celebrate with a special blessing of our brand-new playground equipment. Connect with new families and staff, and cool off with sweet, delicious ice cream treats.
o Last, but certainly not least, our first day of school is this Monday, August 25th! We’re excited to welcome our students back and see our hallways and classrooms filled with energy and laughter once again.
On Thursday, August 28th, our school will host our first-ever 8th Grade Commissioning Mass! This special ceremony will recognize our 8th-grade students as they step into leadership roles, receive blessings, and begin their final year with faith and purpose. Families, teachers, and students are invited to join us for this exciting milestone and help kick off the school year with inspiration and community spirit.
As we begin the school year, I want to tell everyone about our new Cell Phone and Smart Device Policy to ensure a focused and distraction-free learning environment. Cell phones and smart devices may not be used during the regular school day, including break times and lunch. If a parent or guardian allows their child to bring a device to school, a Cell Phone/Smart Device Policy Form must be completed. Upon arrival, the device must be turned off and given to the student’s Homeroom Teacher for safe storage. Devices will be returned at the end of the day and should remain in backpacks until after school hours.
Smart devices include cell phones, smartwatches (like the Apple Watch), and any device capable of connecting to the internet or a phone. Fitbits, basic exercise trackers, and traditional digital
watches are allowed.
Please note:
We encourage students to leave smart devices at home when possible to avoid distractions and potential issues. Thank you for your partnership in helping us maintain a focused and respectful learning environment
Breaking Ground for a Year of Growth!
As we start this new school year, we celebrate new beginnings, both in our classrooms and on our campus. Just as the construction of our new school addition starts with breaking ground, we, too, are laying a strong foundation built on faith, learning, and community. Our focus scripture for August reminds us of the true foundation of all we do:
“For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.”
—1 Corinthians 3:11
Here’s to a year filled with faith, growth, and new opportunities!

Family Pick 2
The kickoff to the 2025/2026 school year is right around the corner and Home and School is beginning to plan for the exciting things that the new school year will bring. As such, I wanted to send out a request for families to complete the attached Volunteer “Pick 2” form. You can find the google form version here: https://forms.gle/nZnxgm6cR1RxQU1T6
Please take a few minutes in the coming days to fill out this form and let us know what activities you would like to participate in for the upcoming school year. There is a brief description of the events/volunteer opportunities. We ask each family to sign up for 2, but we welcome you to sign up for as many as you would like! If you have any questions please reach out to homeandschoolpresident@sfdslg.org.

8th Grade Fundraiser is LIVE!
The Road to Washington DC – 7th and 8th Grade Fundraiser
The St. Francis de Sales 7th and 8th grade classes are planning an exciting and educational trip to Washington, D.C. in May of 2026. To help make this trip possible for all students, we are asking for your support. Our students have put together some great online auction items. They really got creative, so take a look! Watch for more items being added throughout the month. The item that you bid on will go toward the student who donated that item. Any cash donations will be split between the whole class. We appreciate any and all support that we can get. Items go live for bidding on August 21.
