Newsletter – November 25, 2025

11/25/2025

Dear St. Francis de Sales Parish School Families,

On Monday, our St. Francis de Sales 4th through 8th grade classes enjoyed an inspiring field trip to Holy Hill, the Basilica and National Shrine of Mary Help of Christians, near Hubertus, Wisconsin. The primary purpose of the trip was to experience a special veneration event focused on the relics of St. Thérèse of Lisieux.

The highlight of the day was the opportunity for students to be in the presence of St. Thérèse’s relics and venerate them. These relics, which are important physical remains of the saint, were displayed in the St. Thérèse Chapel.

The visit included attending Mass in the chapel. After Mass, the classes moved to the main basilica, where they had the chance to publicly venerate the relics.

In addition to the relics, the students listened to an engaging talk by one of the Carmelite priests who oversees the shrine, offering a detailed look into the rich history of Holy Hill. The priest explained the significance of Holy Hill as a pilgrimage site, its designation as a National Shrine, and later, as a Minor Basilica.

The day was a wonderful mix of spiritual devotion, historical insight, and shared experience for all of our students.

Mark your calendars! St. Francis de Sales will be hosting its annual Advent Breakfast, an excellent opportunity to gather as a community and support a great cause. This festive event will take place on Sunday, December 7th, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Parish Center.

The St. Francis de Sales Parish School Home and School Association invites all families to join us after Mass for a delightful morning of food, fellowship, and holiday festivities. A tasty breakfast buffet will be available, including pancakes, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, and kringle, along with a hot cocoa station. Attendees can also participate in a 50/50 raffle, browse student-made ornaments, and visit the kids’ craft area. Children will also have the chance to take a photo with Santa.

While enjoying breakfast, you can also purchase beautiful poinsettias to brighten your home for the holidays. Available sizes include:

  • 6.5″ Poinsettia – $20
  • 7.5″ Poinsettia – $30
  • 10″ Poinsettia – $40

All proceeds from the poinsettia sale, along with the 7th– and 8th-grade bake sale, will directly support their Washington, D.C., Trip, helping our students gain valuable educational experiences in the spring.

 Admission:

  • Adults: $15.00
  • Children under 12: $8.00
  • (Cash and credit cards accepted.)

To make this joyful event a success, we are looking for volunteers to assist with setup, serving, and cleanup. Whether you can spare an hour or stay for the whole morning, your support makes a tremendous difference. Families, middle school students, and parish members are all welcome to lend a hand. If you would like to volunteer, here is the link to sign up!

Thank you for helping us make the Advent Breakfast a warm and memorable celebration for our entire community!

We look forward to celebrating the Advent season together. Please join us!

As we prepare for the new classroom construction project, we want to make sure families understand the steps we’re taking to keep the school safe and secure.

To ensure building safety during this busy period, all Scherrer Construction workers entering the building will be screened through the Raptor Visitor Management System. This process helps us verify and track every individual who enters our school. Additionally, we have introduced a color-coded lanyard system for all employees and visitors in the building. The color-coded lanyards allow staff to quickly and easily identify who is authorized to be in the building, improving overall security and awareness.

We have also updated how we publish our school calendar system. Staff and St. Francis de Sales Parish School families will now have access to the Principal’s Calendar, which includes more detailed information. The school calendar on the school website will display only key dates. Families can also refer to the principal’s and teachers’ newsletters for upcoming events. Questions can be directed to the school office. Thank you for your support and partnership in keeping our school community safe.

We appreciate your support as we continue to prioritize the safety of our students, staff, and school community during the construction process.

There will be no school next week, Wednesday through Friday, as we take time to celebrate Thanksgiving. We are thankful for our wonderful St. Francis de Sales Parish School community and wish all of our families a joyful, safe, and blessed holiday!

Christmas Parade Float!

Now that Halloween is wrapped up and candy buckets are emptied out, we’re gearing up for one of our next events — the Annual Christmas Parade! This year’s float theme “Noah’s Ark” we’re looking for any animal costumes (big or small, cute or cuddly!) that your little ones might have worn for Halloween and grown out of.

Do you have any animal costumes you’d be willing to donate or buy any on clearance while shopping?
They’ll be worn by our students during the parade as we bring Noah’s Ark and friends to life!

Thank you for helping us make the holidays magical!

You’re invited to our Advent Breakfast!

Join us on Sunday, December 7 from 8:00 AM–12:00 PM for a joyful morning to celebrate the Advent season together!

Enjoy a delicious breakfast, cozy up at the hot cocoa station, and take part in our 50/50 raffle. Families can also stop by for a picture with Santa, explore the craft area, and shop our bake sale and poinsettia sale.

It’s a wonderful way to gather as a school & parish community and share the spirit of the season — we can’t wait to see you there!
