Dear St. Francis de Sales Parish School Families and Friends,
St. Francis de Sales Parish School celebrated an exciting milestone last Thursday, November 6th, with a groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction on our new school addition. This project, made possible through the successful Love One Another campaign, will enhance the learning environment for our students for years to come.
The addition will include four new classrooms, one of which will serve as a dedicated STREAM lab, as well as a new elevator to enhance accessibility throughout the school. STREAM stands for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, which is an expansion of the familiar STEM model that incorporates both the liberal arts and faith-based learning. This approach encourages students to think creatively and critically while integrating faith and values into hands-on, real-world problem solving. The STREAM lab will be a dynamic, collaborative space where students can explore, design, and innovate across disciplines in meaningful and engaging ways.
These upgrades reflect the parish’s commitment to providing a modern and inclusive educational experience for all students.
The groundbreaking ceremony brought together school and parish leadership, teachers, and community members to celebrate this exciting moment. We are thrilled to watch this project take shape and look forward to welcoming students into the new space in the coming months. This addition is a testament to the strength of our parish community and our dedication to nurturing the next generation of learners.
This past Tuesday, St. Francis de Sales Parish School came together to honor and celebrate our veterans with a meaningful and heartfelt Veterans’ Day program.
Our day began with a special School Mass, where students, staff, and guests gathered to give thanks for the service and sacrifice of our veterans. Following Mass, we welcomed our attendees and highlighted the importance of remembering those who have bravely served our country.
Each class contributed to the celebration by sharing brief histories of the different branches of the armed forces, accompanied by the singing of each branch’s official song. These presentations gave students and visitors alike a deeper appreciation for the dedication of our military members.
Veterans in attendance were then escorted through a welcoming line of students and staff to the parish center, where they were greeted with handmade posters on the walls created by our students to show their gratitude. Each veteran received a special gift for attending and enjoyed coffee and doughnuts, providing a warm and personal opportunity for fellowship with our school community.
A sincere thank you to all of our teachers and students for their hard work and preparation in making this celebration so meaningful. A special word of gratitude goes out to Mrs. Joanne Kayser and Mrs. Lori Glass for their thoughtful planning and organization of this year’s program.
It was a wonderful day of reflection, appreciation, and community spirit. We are grateful to all the veterans who attended and to our school community for honoring those who so selflessly serve our country.
To enhance building safety, we are updating how we publish our school calendar system. Staff will now have access to the Principal’s Calendar, which includes more detailed information. The parent calendar on the school website will display key dates only. Families can also refer to the principal’s and teachers’ newsletters for upcoming events. Questions can be directed to the school office. Thank you for your support and partnership in keeping our school community safe.
Thank you to all students and staff for your help with moving the 4-year-old preschool classroom! As a token of our appreciation, Tuesday, November 18th, will be a casual dress day.

Christmas Parade Float!
Now that Halloween is wrapped up and candy buckets are emptied out, we’re gearing up for one of our next events — the Annual Christmas Parade! This year’s float theme “Noah’s Ark” we’re looking for any animal costumes (big or small, cute or cuddly!) that your little ones might have worn for Halloween and grown out of.
Do you have any animal costumes you’d be willing to donate or buy any on clearance while shopping?
They’ll be worn by our students during the parade as we bring Noah’s Ark and friends to life!
Thank you for helping us make the holidays magical!
You’re invited to our Advent Breakfast!
