January Home & School Newsletter

Hello St. Francis Families,

Happy New Year!

2022 Will be a great year full of fantastic activities for our students, staff, and families!  Our auction will be earlier than it has been in the past (more on that later), and we already have several other events planned.  In fact, there’s so much information to share in this newsletter, it’s broken down by month…

February:

Catholic Schools Week begins on Jan. 31 and continues through the week with fun things like the Pancake Lunch on Feb. 2 and a mass at Grand Geneva on Feb. 4th.

Please remember that Feb. 4th is also an early release day!

Next, we have no school on Feb. 10th and 11th.
Join your friends at Timber Ridge Waterpark on Thursday, Feb. 10th for some warmth and waterslides!  (See attached flier for details!)

The Father Daughter Dance will be held at Celebrations on Wells on Saturday, Feb. 19th from 5-8pm.  All girls are welcome (3K-8th), bring your Dad or other positive male role model!  We look forward to a special evening with a delicious dinner, dessert, and plenty of dancing!

The Mother Son Bowling event will also be held in February at Ten Pin Pub in Walworth on Sunday, February 27th at noon.  More details coming soon!

March:

Things get even more exciting as we move into March with our Annual Auction, the biggest fundraiser of the year!  This one will be super fun, new, and different!  It will be held on Saturday, March 5th at Topsy Turvy in Lake Geneva.  Please purchase your tickets Early, as we are expecting this event to reach capacity and sell out.

Also, please watch for details on your student’s class baskets!  These have been some of our most popular items in past years.  Each class will have a unique and creative theme for their basket. They are a ton of fun for the students and teachers and also a blast for parents when it comes to bidding time!  They will be available as part of the silent auction on March 5th.

Lastly, (as far as our auction goes) we are looking for ideas and donations for the Silent as well as the Live Auction portions of our fundraiser.  Do you know someone who owns a business, provides a service, has a talent…anything that could benefit another family would be great!  We would like to challenge our families to each ask one business, friend, or family member to donate an item or service for our school’s largest fundraiser of the year!

Friday, March 11th, we will have another fun school and family event:  Traxside roller skating in Burlington from 5-8:30pm.  $8 addmission, skate rental included, and a portion of this will benefit SFdS! (Flier attached)

Aside from all of the great events we have to look forward to this school year, we have also started looking into next year.  We want to let you know nice and early that we will be looking for a new President and Vice-President for Home & School as our current and fantastic President and VPs terms will be coming to an end at the end of this school year.  Please consider one of these positions!  It is a wonderful way to get involved in your child’s school.  These are two-year terms.  Interested? Consider attending some meetings to find out what Home & School does behind the scenes!

Thank you for reading this jam-packed January Newsletter and Happy New Year!

Sincerely,
Your Home & School Board
