Hello Saint Francis de Sales Families,
Hello and Welcome to another school year! I can’t believe how quickly summer went and I hope you all got to relax and enjoy it. As we move into the 2024-2025 school year, I can’t help but think about how much Saint Francis de Sales School has changed. I remember the days of chalkboards, overheads, and one computer per classroom. Now education is moving to all online and focused more on content than the student learning it. This made me wonder what is important in education and what is best for students. The big word the staff and I used during the summer is basics. Getting back to basics and remembering what is important. Making sure kids feel supported, challenged, and learning something new everyday is my goal for this upcoming school year, to keep moving forward but remembering the basics of education. I look forward to a great year and working with everyone to create the best possible learning environment for all invested parties. We have had a lot of changes for this upcoming year to help make this a possibility.
We are excited to add some new staff members to our community. First, Rachel LeRose in Kindergarten, Stacey Stelzer in third grade, Maddie Palmer in fifth grade, and Ela Carrano in 6th grade. These four women are a wonderful addition to the staff and follow our mission to create disciples of Christ and a well rounded student.
Building our sense of community starts with the relationships between our families and there are several ways to meet new families and get involved. All of our events can’t run without the support of the parents and volunteers. Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered and continue to donate their time and talents to better the school. I look forward to a wonderful school year and don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
God Bless,
Kelly Sykora
