The annual Soles for Catholic Education Walk is going virtual in 2020, but will still provide your parish school an opportunity to raise funds that benefit directly students and classrooms. On Saturday, October 17, 2020, parish schools will have the option as to whether to organize a walk on parish grounds, in area neighbor-hoods or to encourage students and parents to design their own routes (considering safety first, of course). Please see the flyer at the end of this newsletter for additional information
This year’s virtual Soles Walk will provide your parish school an opportunity to raise much- needed funds that will directly benefit your classrooms and students. Each school will set their own fundraising goal for items needed, and will decide how and where walkers will participate.
To help each school raise money, there are several new and exciting additions:
1. Matching funds: This year’s sponsorship donations will be used to match a portion of the money raised by each school. The percentage of matching funds received will be based proportionally on how much the schools raise compared to how much is donated by sponsors.
2. Text-to-give: Each school has its own unique text-to-give number on the website that is easy to share with family, friends and neighbors so they can donate. You can find your school’s unique text-to-give number on your school’s landing page on the Soles Walk website, catholicschoolswalk.org
Your school will make the decision whether to walk together on your school or parish property on October 17, or to encourage your walk participants to walk in their own neighborhoods or even around their own homes.
This information has also been provided to school principals. We encourage you to work with your school principal to maximize the funds your school can raise.
Remember, 100% of donations raised for a school stays at that school.
We look forward to helping you make this year’s Virtual Soles Walk a success.
