The Catholic Daughters of America recently held a gladiola fundraiser to honor living and
deceased fathers. Each glad that was purchased for a dad was displayed in the St. Francis de
Sales church in Lake Geneva for all to enjoy. Family bouquets, honoring up to 10 dads, also
were featured. Names of the fathers and of the donors were published in a brochure. Proceeds
from this annual “Glads for Dads” event will benefit the charities endorsed by the Catholic
Daughters. Shown among the glads in the church are Catholic Daughter members. Seated in the
front row, from left to right, are Loretta Maas, long time Catholic Daughter member, Ruth
Busch, Wisconsin Catholic Daughter state regent, Lois Maywald, Lake Geneva Catholic
Daughter regent, and Betty Bartelson, honored Catholic Daughter member, who recently turned
100-years- old.
