It’s a family thing! Harry, Terry and Lily Quinn have ushered as a family at the 10:30 a.m. Mass for several years. Why do they want to do this together? “We discussed what we could do as a family to contribute to the church, and decided that being ushers would involve all of us. At the time, our daughter Cat was in high school and was also part of our ushering team, and still helps out if there is a need when she is home for a visit.”
Lily, the youngest of four daughters, is a senior at Badger High School, a faith-filled Christian and an academic athlete. She has put a lot of time and effort into her sports and education. She feels that her abilities are from God and that it is her job to use them. She enjoyed participating as a student leader at the recent St. Francis confirmation class retreat, and hopes to continue to share her faith with others through college ministry. She has helped coach young girls in the Lake Geneva Youth Basketball program, and she looks forward to being a basketball coach as part of her future career.
Harry has worked as a graphic designer and portrait artist for a
variety of clients and private collectors, but this year begins a new career as the general manager for a brand new business, The Geneva Deck Company, a division of Lowell Management, using his design skills to create outdoor spaces. Harry coached the St. Francis de Sales Girls’ basketball teams for many years when his daughters Sami and Christy were students at our school, helped with school and church activities, and designed past church logos and website.
Terry is a part-time communication instructor for Gateway Technical College. Parishioners since 1989, Terry has helped out with many school volunteer activities and church fundraisers, was a member of the St. Francis de Sales cast for the production of The Sound of Music, and was co-chair of the 150th Anniversary of St. Francis de Sales Celebration with Maureen Allenstein.
The way that it works out, they are ushers once or twice a month. “In our busy lives, it is a great way to begin a new week.”
Thank you to the Quinn Family for all that ALL of you do for St. Francis de Sales Parish!
