St. Francis de Sales students consistently achieve high rankings in all facets of academics. As compared to other schools in Wisconsin and the area, our students did an outstanding job in demonstrating their academic attainment on the Wisconsin Knowledge and Concepts exam. But it doesn’t stop there. St. Francis de Sales students continue their academic successes once in high school by consistently achieving honor roll, as well as citizenship and athletic recognition. Within the past three years, two local high school valedictorians and two salutatorians were St. Francis alumnus. By combining a well-rounded, standard-based curriculum with excellent, qualified teachers and aides and small class sizes, St. Francis can build the foundation of lifelong learning academic excellence.
St. Francis offers a full physical education program to help students develop physically while experiencing a wide variety of activities. Students learn the importance of sportsmanship, teamwork and discipline through a curriculum that also develops skills and coordination. Most of our physical education units are taught on -sight, but we also reach out to the community to provide units on bowling, golf, swimming and more.
St. Francis de Sales school recognizes that creativity is a key ingredient in a child’s development and encourages each child to express through various means. The art and music programs provide and outlet for students to explore and exhibit their talents in these areas. In addition to the standard art curriculum, St. Francis de Sales offers students the opportunity to further explore classic art through the Visual Arts Program. Trained discussion leaders help students gain insight while developing docent and mentor skills.
Recognizing our Global Economy and the growing presence and importance of technology, St. Francis de Sales School provides students learning experiences with computers both in the classroom and in our computer lab.Students learn from an early age the fundamentals of the computer in a lab experience. Faculty members regularly incorporate hands-on computerized programs to enhance lessons, and encourage the use of the Internet in research and project development.
Values, Faith & Eucharist
Eucharist plays a vital role in the education process at St. Francis. While academics are a key component, it’s not a parochial education without the presence of Christ and the Eucharist.Students learn from an early age that religion is not a class period, or something practiced on Sundays, but rather a way of developing as a person who cares for and respects others.By taking an active part in the Liturgy, students gain a deeper understanding of their faith. Students learn that God does play an important part in their lives. Practicing their Christian values in the classroom carries over to their out-of-school lives, making them examples in the community. The sacraments of First Eucharist and First Reconciliation are also an integral part of the curriculum of our school.
