Dear SFDS Community,
Well, we started the journey today. Overall our teachers and students came to the table today ready to meet the challenge and take on Virtual Learning. We already have noticed some things that we thought would work that did not and may be in need of some adjustments. Teachers are addressing and working through some of these issues. The task this week is to work out kinks and be ready to start the 4th quarter on March 30th with confidence in the process.
Some immediate attention is needed to those who can not connect or sign into the programs we need, NewsELA and Kahn Academy. We are posting in several spots to assist you. The journal is needed for documentation and reflection.
I am sure this will become more seamless as we move forward.
- Please email your homeroom teacher if you are having issues. They will do their best to work through those issues and find solutions.
- Email email@example.com for any specific hardware or tech issues.
- Documenting or journaling is necessary
- Assignments will be posted daily
- All students do not have to do the morning sessions, you can complete the assignments by the next day. We have scheduled morning sessions to ensure teachers are available as needed.
I understand that this is a challenge so please communicate what is working and what is not working by weeks end and we will make adjustments and problem solve issues as best we can.
Spring Break is next week!
I have been notified through the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and Lake Geneva Schools that we will have spring break next week. That will mean we will NOT provide Virtual Learning activities each morning next week. Teachers will be posting some enrichment activities for the students if you want to access them. It is not necessary to journal or do assignments next week. Online learning will start again on March 30th. Please know that we are here and available if needed next week. We will work on fine tuning our process to deliver the best instruction possible in this situation.
Please feel free to communicate questions or concerns and get into your routine. We will continue classes 03/19 and 03/20 to close out quarter 3. We will begin quarter 4 on March 30th.
The Grab and Go food for free and reduced lunch will not be available next week at Badger High School because of Spring Break.
Please know you are all in my prayers. I wish you all good health. I will keep you updated on any new developments. I want to thank you for your continued support. Our community and our nation are in need of our prayers. God Bless.
